Assistance with daily personal activities

 

Our main goal is to help them live their life easily and should provide assistance in such a way that every needs should be fulfilled living in healthy and friendly environment. We encourage them to live their life freely and explore the things that he / she might be interested in.

 

At Australian Care Excellence, We support people with physical disabilities for their daily personal activities. Many of the people used to have difficulties doing their daily activities due to their physical disabilities. They need assistance with bathing, cooking, dressing, travelling and other daily activities. Our experienced carers will assist them with this.

When it comes to NDIS, daily living includes all those tasks starting from waking up from bed, bathing, dressing, eating, moving around and other tasks before going to bed. Assistance with daily personal activities intended to support you to do all those kind of activities. Your NDIS funding will be used for for support workers to help you to do all those activities that person with disability is not able to do by himself / herself.

Some specific daily personal activities that you might be interested to use NDIS funding for:

  • Someone to get yourself ready for the day (like bathing, dressing etc)
  • Someone to get assistance for meal preparation.
  • Someone to help to provide assistance with tasks like cleaning, etc.
  • Someone to help you to move around the community, driving to a place or assistance with public transport.
  • Someone to book appointment for the person with disability.

Assistance in coordinating or Managing life stage transitions and support Service

 

Transitioning to a new life stage is full of challenges for everyone. As you grow, more challenges and responsibilities come over to you. And while transitioning to a new age, everyone leans from their mistakes and experiences.

But, the life experience of the people with disability is very tough as compared to a normal living guy. So, to make it easy and simple they require someone to assist with their different kind of activities at the life transition stage.

At Australian Care Excellence, it becomes very easy for them to transit themselves and make themselves according the age growth and modern life lifestyles so that they should not lack behind anyone.

We at Australian Care Excellence always aim to make the life of people with disability by helping them in different kind of activities at the life transition stage such as :

  • Assistance with living by their own at home.

  • Assistance with development of independent self-care and living skills.

Development of Daily Living and Life Skills

 

What all people have in common, with or without a disability, are the basic life skills that allow us to thrive must be cultivated. Those with differing levels of ability are charged with the same tasks and responsibilities as anyone else if they choose to live independently.

 

Developing daily living life skills for person with disability is an ability to live the life happily and complete the tasks with minimum assistance in different frame of life either it can be schools, colleges, communities, home or at job. For the people with disability, it use to be hard for them to do most of the tasks independently. So to make them independent and develop the skills to do those tasks with minimum assistance, it requires an experienced support assistant in Melbourne to develop those skills.

Group and centre based activities

 

Our Group and Centre based activities will include excursion and days out to places such as You Yangs, Gorge Wildlife, swimming, etc.

Clients engage in both centre-based and community activities and are encouraged to contribute to weekly activity planning. Programs facilitate practical learning opportunities for life skill development and support clients to explore their personal interests.

Centre Based Activities and Groups promote socialisation while offering both worker facilitated and self-directed capacity building activities. Participants are welcome to undertake activities independently within the space. All activities are participant directed and only limited to participant’s imaginations.

Program activities include:

  • Life Skills development – eg: grocery shopping, cooking, personal care, gardening, household tasks
  • Improved Health & Wellbeing – eg: walking, jogging, swimming, mountains climbing etc.
  • Literacy and Numeracy – eg: tailored programs to suit learning ability, money handling, budgeting, reading and writing skills
  • Recreational – eg: ten pin bowling, music, picnics, art and craft
  • Community access – eg: library, community events, shopping, museum, art gallery etc.

Participation In Community, Social And Civic Activities

 

We can help you to join community, social and civic activities in your area or away from home with support from our experienced support workers who will be with you to help you participate and strengthen your ability to participate independently.

Participation in your community plays a vital role in your wellbeing and self confidence. NDIS participants can access community activities including social gatherings, sporting clubs, and your interest groups.

With a focus on improving wellbeing, these services are designed for Australians with an NDIS plan who require support to engage in community, social and civic activities.

With a large range of existing programs within our community and the flexibility to provide something that suits your needs, we can support you to get out there, meet new people, try new things and make the most of life.

We are here to support you with your choice of activity, whether it is:

  • Going to the gym
  • Playing a sport
  • Joining a club
  • Horse riding
  • Dancing
  • Photography
  • Having a BBQ with friends
  • Seeing a movie
  • Going for dinner
  • Watch some local live musicians or attend events

House hold tasks 

 

Getting to know you is important to us. Australian Care Excellence team member will spend time with you to learn about your interests and understand how you like to maintain your household, and identify with you any specific goals or needs you may have. We will work with you find a suitable team member who you can really trust and feel comfortable with.

Spending time on your favourite hobby or entertaining friends and family can make time spent at home much more enjoyable. Our team can help by making things easy so you can continue to live independently at home while doing more of the things you love.

We offer assistance with domestic chores, including assistance with cleaning, dishwashing, clothes washing, fresh linen and ironing, in order to maintain a safe, secure and healthy environment for our clients.

Services Available

Essential cleaning is offered across all areas that are regularly used by our client within their own home.

These include:

  • – bathrooms
  • – toilets
  • – kitchens
  • – laundries
  • – living areas and bedrooms.

Support workers undertake tasks such as cleaning stoves tops, wiping down bench tops and inside fridges as well as vacuuming or mopping floors, dusting, dishwashing, changing bed linen, washing, drying and doing essential ironing.

Depending on your individual needs, our friendly and experienced Disability Support Workers can visit on a regular basis or occasionally, several times a week or every now and then, we tailor our services around what you.

Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangements

The support is provided to each person living in the arrangement in accordance with their need. Assisting with and/or supervising tasks of daily life with a focus on developing the skills of the individuals to live as autonomously as possible. This may include participant’s living in the same household or in cluster units or participant’s living in a host family arrangement. This activity occurs in a group living situation that can be either ongoing or temporary.

What are Core Supports, and what is Assistance with Daily Living?

  1. The Core support budget covers support for people with disability to complete daily living activities (in the home or the community) and work towards their goals.
  2. Assistance with Daily Living is a support category under the Core support budget.
  3. Support types you may find under the Assistance with Daily Living support category in your NDIS plan are:
    • Assistance with daily personal activities
    • Assistance with household tasks
    • Assistance in Shared Living Arrangements, and
    • Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short Term Accommodation and Assistance (or respite).

Innovative Community Participation 

Community Engagement Practitioners maintain a focus on resilience, wellbeing and personal growth to successfully connect to the community, however each service is tailored to best suit the participant, and their goals, to allow them to get the most out of the service.

Australian Care Excellence is a registered NDIS provider and are able to provide Innovative Community Participation support to portal-managed (NDIS-Managed), plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants.

 

What are some examples of how innovative community participation can help you?

  • Learn new skills or build on your existing skills to give you more independence in your life
  • Socialise and make connections, create a network of friends
  • Network and find out about new opportunities and supports that you can be involved in
  • Increase you independence and ability to live on your own and look after yourself

Assistance with travel and transports

For people with disabilities, transportation is the lifeline for them to travel for education, healthcare, employment and making a trip to travel somewhere. People with disabilities should not be discriminated from the general public. They should be getting the same facilities as others are getting.

Whether you are travelling by plane, train or automobile, accessibility and safety is the main concern, if you having disability.
